Siding Replacement Across Washington, Since 1974
New siding is one of the biggest changes you can make to your home, and in Washington it has to stand up to long wet winters on the west side and hot, dry summers on the east. Builders Service Company has been installing siding for Washington homeowners since 1974. The three siding types we usually recommend are vinyl, metal and our own Evergreen Shield Siding System, and during your free consultation we’ll talk through the best option for your home, your budget and your weather.

Why homeowners choose Builders Service Company
Serving Washington since 1974. For more than 50 years, siding has been the core of what we do. That experience shows up in the details: how old siding comes off, what we check underneath, and how the new siding is flashed and finished.
Locally owned, not a chain or franchise. Builders Service Company is a family-owned Washington business. Founder Mason Ruppel still oversees projects and leads in-home consultations himself, so the person who plans your project is part of the company that builds it.
A showroom in every neighborhood. We’ve completed projects in nearly every county in Washington, from Puget Sound to the Wenatchee Valley. Mason calls it “a showroom in every neighborhood”: in many communities, there’s already a Builders home nearby where you can see the work for yourself.
The three siding types we recommend most
| Siding type | Best for | Strengths |
|---|---|---|
| Vinyl | The widest choice of styles at the lowest cost | Versatile profiles and colors; no repainting |
| Metal | Wildfire-prone areas and a clean, modern look | Noncombustible; durable |
| Evergreen Shield Siding System (composite) | Long-term performance in Pacific Northwest weather | Water resistant; Class A fire rated; R-2.0 insulation; 20 fade-resistant colors |
Vinyl siding
Vinyl is our most versatile and least expensive option. It comes in a wide range of profiles and colors, it won't rot, and it never needs paint. For homeowners who want a fresh exterior and a low price per square foot, especially on larger homes, vinyl is usually where we start.
Metal siding
Metal siding is noncombustible and built to last, which makes it a strong choice in the wildfire-prone areas east of the Cascades and anywhere you want a crisp, contemporary exterior. It's also a good match for homes that pair siding with a metal roof.
Evergreen Shield Siding System
The Evergreen Shield Siding System is our exclusive insulated composite siding, designed for Pacific Northwest weather:
- Built for wet seasons: composite panels resist water, humidity, mold and mildew.
- Class A fire rating: the highest fire-resistance rating for construction materials.
- Insulated: a graphite membrane gives the system a thermal resistance of R-2.0, compared with R-0.61 for standard vinyl siding.
- 20 fade-resistant colors: color is built in, so it resists chipping, peeling and fading, and there's no repainting.
Mason developed the Evergreen Shield Siding System for local homes and talked about it on KOMO 4's Seattle Refined.
Stacked stone and stone veneer accents
We also install stacked stone and stone veneer as accents alongside your new siding: wainscots, entry walls, columns and chimneys. Stone adds texture and a durable base course near the ground.

Siding built for Washington weather
Washington asks a lot of an exterior. West of the Cascades, months of rain, shade and moss are hard on anything made of wood; unlike cedar, the three siding types we usually recommend won’t rot or need repainting. East of the mountains, summer heat, high UV and winter freeze-thaw cycles fade and stress siding, and wildfire risk makes noncombustible metal and Class A-rated Evergreen Shield Siding System worth a close look. On the coast and along the Sound, salt air calls for vinyl or the Evergreen Shield Siding System with corrosion-resistant fasteners and trim.

What our customers say

I’m very happy with the work! The team who came to do the siding was awesome, and it was great working with Mason and Mr. Kim. The siding looks fantastic, and I’m pleased to share that it held up perfectly to the 35mph winds we had last night. I highly recommend them!

Folks still stop and tell us how nice it makes our neighborhood look since we has this done. Of note is Builders Service’s attention to detail. For instance during the re-siding areas of rot were exposed in our wall.

Which siding holds up best in Washington's climate?
It depends on where you live. West of the Cascades, rain and moss favor materials that won't rot, so vinyl, metal and the Evergreen Shield Siding System all work well. Near salt water, vinyl or the Evergreen Shield Siding System with corrosion-resistant trim is a good fit. East of the mountains, where heat, UV and wildfire are concerns, metal and Class A-rated Evergreen Shield Siding System stand out. During your free consultation we'll recommend the best option for your home.
What is the Evergreen Shield Siding System?
The Evergreen Shield Siding System is Builders Service Company's exclusive insulated composite siding, designed for Pacific Northwest weather. Its composite panels resist water, mold and mildew, it carries a Class A fire rating, and a graphite membrane gives it a thermal resistance of R-2.0. It comes in 20 built-in, fade-resistant colors, so there's no repainting.
Is vinyl siding a good choice for my home?
Vinyl is our most versatile and least expensive siding. It comes in a wide range of profiles and colors, doesn't rot and never needs paint, which makes it a practical choice for larger homes and tighter budgets. If you want more insulation or a higher fire rating, we'll show you how the Evergreen Shield Siding System compares.
Can new siding help with heating costs?
Insulated siding adds a layer of protection to your walls. The Evergreen Shield Siding System has a thermal resistance of R-2.0, compared with R-0.61 for standard vinyl siding. How much it changes your heating bills depends on your home's insulation, windows and heating system; we can talk through your home specifically during a consultation.
Do you work in my area?

We offer financing options; see our financing page for current details. We also offer discounts for seniors, active military, veterans and first responders. Ask about both during your free in-home consultation.
