Serving Chelan County, WA
Builders Service Company works on homes throughout Chelan County, with dedicated pages for two cities: Wenatchee and Leavenworth. In both, we replace siding, install new roofs, put in replacement windows and build decks. The two cities sit in different parts of the East Cascades and their houses were built in different decades, so the right plan for one home is not always the right plan for the next. Below you’ll find how the cities compare, which nearby communities we reach and how to set up a visit.
How homes differ across Chelan County
Wenatchee and Leavenworth are as far apart in housing age as they are in setting. Census data puts Wenatchee’s median year built at 1977, and its most common building era is 1950 to 1979. Houses from those decades often still wear cedar, T1-11 or asbestos-cement shingle siding, and shingles of that kind may contain asbestos and should be tested before removal. Wenatchee also has more mobile homes: 6% of its housing, against 1% in Leavenworth.
Leavenworth’s median year built is 1984, yet its largest building era is 2000 or later. Many of those newer houses carry fiber cement or builder-grade vinyl siding that is reaching its first repaint or replacement, along with builder-grade windows.
The setting changes too. Wenatchee lies in the East Cascades valley climate region, while Leavenworth falls in the East Cascades mountain region. Both are east-side climates, so on either side of the county a project should account for snow shedding, freeze-thaw cycles and UV fading.
One rating the two cities share is wildfire exposure, which is High in both. That makes Class A roofing, ember-resistant vents and Class A fire-rated or metal siding worth weighing on any exterior project here.

Chelan County FAQ
Which Chelan County communities do you work in?
We serve Wenatchee and Leavenworth, each with its own page, along with Cashmere, Chelan and Dryden, which our Wenatchee page covers. If your home is in one of those communities, the free in-home consultation works the same way: we visit, look at the house and talk through siding, roofing, windows or a deck. Call 888-980-8580 to set up a time.
How do conditions in Wenatchee differ from Leavenworth?
Wenatchee deals with hot summers, high UV, snow and wildfire smoke, so fading and heat matter as much as winter weather. Leavenworth is a mountain town where heavy snow loads come first, and its Bavarian design code shapes how exteriors look. We plan roof structure and snow shedding for Leavenworth homes, and sun-resistant finishes for Wenatchee homes, though both cities see snow and sun.
What siding do you recommend where wildfire risk is high?
For homes rated High for wildfire, as both Wenatchee and Leavenworth are, we usually recommend the [Evergreen Shield Siding System](/evergreen-shield-siding-system) or metal siding. The Evergreen Shield Siding System carries a [Class A fire rating](/fire-resistant-siding), the highest fire-resistance rating for construction materials. Vinyl remains an option too, and the best choice for your home is something we discuss during the free in-home consultation.
Does the age of my house change what the project involves?
It can. Many Wenatchee homes date from 1950 to 1979, when cedar, T1-11 and asbestos-cement shingle siding were common, and those shingles should be tested for asbestos before removal. In Leavenworth, where much of the housing was built in 2000 or later, the job is more often replacing builder-grade vinyl or fiber cement and builder-grade windows that have reached the end of their first cycle.
